Call for Abstracts – Junior Researchers

The LRA Healthy Ageing plans a PhD sessions on the first day (20 February 2019) and a junior research day on the third day (22 February 2019) of the symposium.

1.       The PhD session is on Wednesday, 20 February 2019, from 15:30 – 17:00 h. Four or five students can talk about their results in this session. The best talk will get the PhD-Award of 1.000,- €.

2.       The junior research day will take place on Friday, 22 February 2019, PhD students and postdocs (max. 3 years after dissertation) can present their interdisciplinary work in the Healthy Ageing session 10:15 – 11:15 h.

Abstracts for both session can be handed in to the coordinator Astrid van der Wall until 17 December 2018. You find the application form attached. The PhD committee will decide who will present his/her work and in which session the talk will be given.

Of course, the junior researchers are invited to the whole symposium. The symposium is free of charge and the LRA Healthy Ageing will be able to pay for your accommodation in Berlin (up to 70,- €, PhDs and Junior Researchers).

Call for Applications Travel Awards

The Leibniz Research Alliance Healthy Ageing got third party funding from the Joachim Herz Stiftung for supporting junior researchers. The third day of the symposium will be dedicated to the interdisciplinary exchange between the participating students and postdocs.

The LRA Healthy Ageing supports PhD students, postdocs and focus groups by giving travel awards for the participation of junior researchers in the symposium, in the working sessions of the focus groups and in the junior research day on 22 February 2019.

The LRA Healthy Ageing will support the participation with a travel grand for accommodation and travel costs. Each focus group can nominate two junior researchers (PhD students or postdocs, max. 3 years after dissertation) for a travel grand without further application. Other international junior researchers can apply for a travel grand at the LRA Healthy Ageing. You find the application form attached to this call. Each head of a focus group can chose a third applicant for a grand. Travel awards will be paid as follows:

up to 300,- €      for junior researchers from Germany
up to  500,- €     for junior researchers from Europe
up to 1000,- €   for junior researchers from overseas
