Research goals & tasks

To adress the multiple challenges of healthy ageing and demograhpic change, the Leibniz Research Alliance Healthy Ageing (LRA Healthy Ageing) was formed in 2013. It currently consists of 21 Leibniz institutes with scientists from many different disciplines: biology, medicine, psychology, education science, sociology, and economics.

The goal of the research alliance is to illuminate the biological and social factors behind the ageing process and its effects in order to develop novel strategies for intervention and adaption capable of sustainably promoting healthy ageing.
