Biomarkers of ageing associated dysfunctions and diseases

The focus group “Biomarkers” aims for the identification of biomarkers e.g. proteins, metabolites, fatty acids and lipids which are relevant for the health status of the human metabolic system and age-deriving diseases, e.g. Alzheimer’s disease. These markers then can be used for detecting early onsets of diseases, as prognostic markers as well as for monitoring the success of disease treatment, help for tailoring and monitoring personalized treatment strategies or to compensate for subsets of patients that do not adequately respond to applied treatment.
